They Do!
Same-sex couples in California get marriage licenses
"These are not folks who just met each other last week and said, `Let's get married.' These are folks who have been together in some cases for decades," said Kate Kendell, executive director of the National Center for Lesbian Rights. "They are married in their hearts and minds, but they have never been able to have that experience of community and common humanity."
YAY! Congratulations to all!

I just read an article about two women who are now 87 and 84 and got married today after being together for 55 years! It's amazing!
Here is a link to watch the nuptials!

Yay!
And there's an almost complete lack of sensationalism in the reporting...like, the photographers didn't try to find a naked couple, or a couple in drag. The pictures are all of extremely happy, thoroughly conventional, generally middle-aged couples getting married.
It's AMAZING how quickly things are changing!
Next stop...FLORIDA! Or, errr, maybe not quite yet. :)
