The Lola Shuffle - The "It's Been a Good Week" Edition

To paraphrase my new boyfriend Craig Ferguson, it's a great week to be an American!

Oh my God - the news keeps getting better and better. Let's recap:

• Ford announced that their sales had increased for the first time since 2007 thanks to the new "Clash for Clunkers" program
• Speaking of clunkers, Paula Abdul quit American Idol! YAY!
• Bill Clinton traveled to North Korea, met with Kim Jong Il and got two imprisoned American journalists released and returned home
• Sonia Sotomayor got confirmed as the first Hispanic Supreme Court Justice
• Congress approved refunding the successful Cash for Clunkers program
• This morning we woke to the news that the unemployment rate has dropped
• Our Republican Senator Mel Martinez is resigning office before his term ends in 2010. Of course he'll be replaced by a Republican, but still this will casue trauma in the Republican party and that amuses me :) .
