The Mind Wobbles

So many things to absorb, think about, deal with and put up with - it simply makes the mind wobble...

Weekend at Home

[Note: As you may see in the Comments section, the photo above is not of my feet! I found it via Google and thought it fit the mood perfectly, so I used it. The photo comes from Fluffbuff - she knit the socks herself! Thanks Francesca!]

So it's been a lazy weekend. After several late nights, I think it caught up with me. We're sort of under house arrest, because we're having car trouble, so we can't really go anywhere anyway, so it worked out. Friday night we went to a friends house for game night and had a lot of fun, but the rest of the weekend so far has consisted of lots of sleeping, drinking cofee, watching TV, reading, drinking wine, eating, playing World of Warcraft and just "hanging".

This type of weekend is not usually to my liking, I grew up going out practically every weekend shopping, visiting, doing stuff, taking family drives, going out with friends, etc. And I still bristle at staying home entire weekends at a time too often. But sometimes, like this weekend, it's OK.

Just Loafing Around

Yep, that pretty much describes this weekend.

Hubby and I woke up at around 10 AM on Saturday, I made a new (to me at least) evil empire coffee (Starbucks) from Guatemala called Casi Cielo (Almost Heaven) and he made frozen waffles. We then began to play what wound up being pretty much a day into late night/early morning
World of Warcraft (WoW) session (that's my main charcter Hildalaira up there - on my flying mount). We had a blast. We "quested" on our own. A quest is where you have to go out and perform some sort of task - gather something, kill something, do something, talk to someone, etc. We quested together, we quested with in-game friends.

At some point we stopped for Chinese food (delivered of course) and then continued playing.

At around 1 AM I got sucked into part of
The Beverly Hillbillies marathon on TVLand, I watched the three episodes where Granny thought the Civil War was being re-fought.

This morning I made coffee again and we're drinking it as we watch George Stephanopolous' (my ex-boyfriend) show and I Blog. My Blogging was interrupted for Googling several foods from Hubby's childhood. Maybe someone can help - we're looking for some mention of a mayonnaise Hubby's grandmother used to buy in Philadelphia back in the day - it's something like Mrs. Schlaller's (not sure of spelling) - I can't find any reference to it.

Soon we'll order lunch and then I'll get ready for dinner with friends. In between there will probably be more WoWing.

Great, mindless weekend...how was yours?

Lazy Saturday

On this, the last Saturday before Christmas, when according to the news stores and malls are packed with bstling shoppers I have spent the entire day watching movies. I am done with my shopping and almost done with my wrapping - YAY!

So far I've been in Manhattan in the mid-70s for Metropolitan, Nebraska in the mid-90s for Election, the North Atlantic Ocean on a luxury cruise ship for Poseidon and in the early 1800s in England for Vanity Fair. Who knows I may see some more movies before the night is over!

"Metropolitan" was great, "Election" was good, "Poseidon" was a disaster - pun intended - and "Vanity Fair" was really good. I have not yet read the book, although I own it - it will now grow on my ever growing to-be-read list.

So, what have y'all done on this should-be-busy-but-I'm-being-lazy Saturday?
